The Senior MES Developer joins the IT Services & Solutions Delivery team to design, develop, and support Manufacturing Execution System solutions for regulated medical device manufacturing. This role involves building applications for traceability, serialization, and electronic device history records while integrating MES platforms with enterprise systems like SAP ERP, LIMS, and PLM. The developer will build RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and communication interfaces between MES systems and industrial hardware such as PLCs, SCADA systems, and vision systems. Key technologies include Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre, Java, C#, .NET, Spring Framework, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server. Working within a validated environment, the role addresses technical challenges in manufacturing operations, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. The position requires expertise in software engineering best practices, troubleshooting complex production issues, and ensuring adherence to 21 CFR Part 11 and other safety standards.
Design, develop, and maintain Manufacturing Execution System (MES) applications for traceability and regulatory compliance.
Configure and support Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre (FTPC) applications and related technologies.
Develop integrations between MES platforms and enterprise systems like SAP ERP, LIMS, and PLM.
Build and maintain communication interfaces between MES systems and manufacturing equipment, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
Create and manage Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database solutions including stored procedures and performance tuning.
Develop web-based applications using Java, C#, and .NET for plant floor environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across applications, databases, and infrastructure.
Ensure all software development complies with FDA regulations, 21 CFR Part 11, and data integrity requirements.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, software engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
10+ years of overall Information Technology experience.
2-5 years of experience developing and supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
Strong experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre (FTPC) or equivalent MES platforms.
Experience developing applications using Java, C#, .NET, Spring Framework, or similar enterprise technologies.
Experience designing REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, and integrating MES systems with SAP and other enterprise applications.
Experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases, manufacturing equipment integration, PLC communications, and industrial automation.
Experience implementing software within validated environments and knowledge of cybersecurity principles (preferred); experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and shop floor programming (preferred).
