The Senior Manager, Trial Surveillance & Analytics joins the Trial Surveillance & Analytics center of excellence within the Data and Statistical Sciences organization. As a hands-on, full-stack data scientist, you will own solutions from problem statement to production, building data pipelines and integrated databases on SDTM and ADaM to support safety and efficacy surveillance. You will design applications, dashboards, and self-service tools while applying generative and agentic AI to the analysis workflow. Key responsibilities include leading blinded analytics, automating reporting, and integrating clinical trial and real-world data. Required skills include proficiency in R, Python, SQL, and Git, along with experience in machine learning, statistics, and clinical data. You will solve the technical problem of detecting emerging safety signals early during ongoing clinical trials.
Frame surveillance problems with stakeholders to design solutions for early safety and efficacy signal detection.
Design and build data pipelines using SDTM, ADaM, and integrated databases for clinical trial analysis.
Lead blinded, standardized analytics across studies to identify emerging safety and efficacy signals.
Deliver and automate reporting, including tables, listings, figures, and safety reports.
Develop and deploy applications, dashboards, and self-service tools for study teams and patient safety colleagues.
Apply generative and agentic AI to the analysis workflow and build AI agents on clinical data foundations.
Integrate clinical trial and real-world data while assessing data quality and comparability.
Lead cross-functional projects and small pods while coaching and mentoring team members.
What we're looking for
MS with 8+ years of experience or PhD with 4+ years of experience in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, AI, or a related field.
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, health technology, or related industries.
Strong hands-on programming in R, Python, SQL, and version control (e.g., Git) to write production-quality code for end-to-end analytical pipelines.
Demonstrated experience applying generative or agentic AI to analytical or programming work with measurable results.
Experience working with clinical trial data (e.g., CDISC SDTM/ADaM) and/or real-world data (e.g., EHR, claims, registries).
A track record of building analytical tools or solutions that were adopted and sustained by users.
Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts in plain language and influence cross-functional partners.
Experience designing and building agentic AI systems, clinical development, or building interactive visualizations with modern frameworks (preferred).
