The Senior Manager AI Engineer leads the organization's AI engineering capabilities by driving the design, development, and operationalization of enterprise-scale Generative AI solutions. This role involves building and mentoring a high-performing team of engineers while establishing technical visions, architectural standards, and roadmaps for intelligent automation. The individual will manage end-to-end solution delivery, ensuring systems meet performance, security, and compliance requirements within the healthcare domain. Key technologies include AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI, Azure AI, and agentic frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, and LangGraph. They will implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures using vector databases such as Pinecone or Milvus, alongside serverless and event-driven microservices. The role requires expertise in model evaluation, fine-tuning, and monitoring to ensure responsible AI practices while navigating complex regulatory requirements like HIPAA for secure healthcare data.
Lead the design, development, and operationalization of enterprise-scale AI and Generative AI solutions.
Establish technical vision, architectural standards, and roadmaps for corporate AI platforms.
Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of AI and software engineers.
Oversee the delivery of RAG architectures, agentic frameworks, and automated workflows.
Manage production support, incident response, and operational risk for critical AI applications.
Ensure all AI solutions comply with Responsible AI principles, security controls, and healthcare regulations.
Develop reusable engineering patterns and platform accelerators to improve scalability and delivery speed.
Partner with executive leadership to align AI investments and technology strategy with business goals.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
At least 7 years of software engineering, platform engineering, machine learning, or AI engineering experience.
At least 2 years leading engineering teams or architecture initiatives as a technical lead, solution architect, principal engineer, or manager.
Proven experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native applications on AWS and/or GCP.
Experience delivering production AI solutions including Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) platforms.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and modern software engineering practices.
Exceptional communication, mentorship, and technical leadership skills to influence both technical and executive audiences.
Experience operating within Agile, Scrum, and/or SAFe delivery frameworks in large enterprise environments (preferred); Healthcare industry experience (preferred).
