Senior Machine Learning Research Engineer, AIML

What you'll do

• Design software systems and algorithms for performant, scalable training and inference across on-device and server environments.
• Develop core components for a centralized, large-scale machine learning platform.
• Optimize training and inference speeds by pushing the limits of existing technologies.
• Create new techniques to overcome system constraints in deep learning workflows.
• Drive system-level efficiency for both small on-device models and large-scale foundation models.
• Maintain and improve state-of-the-art machine learning frameworks using the PyTorch stack.
• Implement parallelization algorithms for training large-scale models using libraries like DeepSpeed or PyTorch Distributed.
• Contribute to open-source projects based on your research and engineering work.

What we're looking for

• PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
• 3+ years of experience in the AI/ML field.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Solid understanding of software-hardware co-design principles and algorithms.
• Solid understanding of the PyTorch software stack and experience maintaining state-of-the-art ML frameworks.
• Strong understanding of LLM architectures and their core building blocks.
• Experience with parallel training libraries such as PyTorch Distributed, DeepSpeed, or FairScale.
• Experience working on AI/ML-optimized runtime stacks and building models for on-device inference.
