The Senior Lead Data Engineer joins the Risk Tech team to build and deploy proprietary risk management solutions powered by state-of-the-art AI technology. You will collaborate across Agile teams to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that utilize machine learning to prevent risks and automatically detect issues. Key technologies include Java, Scala, Python, SQL, and Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases. You will also work with cloud data warehousing services like Redshift and Snowflake, as well as distributed computing tools such as Spark, Kafka, and Hadoop. The work focuses on transforming risk management through data-driven tools and interactive AI tooling.

What you'll do

Design, develop, test, and implement technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies.
Lead a team of developers specializing in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full-stack systems.
Build and deploy proprietary risk management solutions powered by state-of-the-art AI technology.
Utilize Python, Java, Scala, and SQL to manage RDBMS, NoSQL, and cloud data warehousing services.
Deliver robust cloud-based solutions using AWS, Redshift, or Snowflake to drive customer experiences.
Perform unit tests and conduct code reviews to ensure high performance and rigorous design.
Mentor other members of the engineering community and share knowledge on emerging tech trends.

What we're looking for

At least 6 years of experience in application development.
At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies.
At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
Master's Degree (preferred).
9+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java (preferred).
4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) (preferred).
5+ years experience with Distributed data/computing tools (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL) (preferred).
