Senior Infrastructure SRE

What you'll do

• Design and build solutions for next-generation distributed storage systems.
• Own projects from initial design and stakeholder buy-in to timely delivery.
• Provide technical feedback to colleagues to improve designs, features, and projects.
• Maintain high service availability by handling alerts and escalations on an on-call rota.
• Manage system configuration, provisioning, software deployment, logging, and monitoring tools.
• Perform data migration, backup and recovery, and capacity planning for large-scale systems.
• Optimize the full infrastructure stack from block storage layers to CDN traffic management.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Advanced degree in a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience building, operating, and scaling distributed storage systems in private, public, or hybrid cloud environments.
• Ability to design, author, understand, and release code in Go (preferred), Java, Python, or Rust.
• Good understanding of block, object, and file storage solutions in Linux (such as LVM, XFS, ext4, S3, Ceph, Gluster, NFS).
• Understanding of Linux internals, standard networking protocols, and distributed systems including provisioning, data migration, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience managing diverse systems with configuration management or software delivery platforms like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Spinnaker (preferred).
• Familiarity with microservices, Kubernetes, and relational or non-relational databases (preferred).
