Senior GNC Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and implement advanced GPS-denied navigation algorithms including Vision-Based Navigation and high-fidelity sensor fusion.
• Develop ground-up algorithms from theoretical concepts through simulation, Hardware-in-the-Loop testing, and rapid flight validation.
• Integrate complex sensor modalities such as IMU, EO/IR, Baro, ToF, Radar Altimeter, and Star Trackers into navigation stacks.
• Analyze extensive flight test data to identify performance gaps, refine algorithms, and debug issues in contested environments.
• Build capabilities for collaborative navigation and precision landing on moving or maritime vessels.
• Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for algorithm design and continuous integration.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in GNC, localization, or advanced state estimation roles.
• Deep expertise in state estimation and sensor fusion using various Kalman filter types like EKF, ES-EKF, UKF, and Invariant Filters.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for algorithm development and real-time embedded systems implementation.
• Extensive experience with vision-based navigation (VBN) techniques or robust map matching and geo-registration algorithms.
• Proven ability to develop, test, and debug algorithms in real-time embedded environments on physical hardware.
• Experience with modeling and simulation of dynamic systems and sensor phenomenology.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
