The Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer joins the Security organization to build technologies that help customers explore and act on massive amounts of machine data. You will work with engineers, architects, and product partners to develop global-scale security platform features, optimizing for performance, reliability, and quality. Your daily responsibilities include owning feature delivery, designing backend components, and mentoring junior engineers. You will utilize Python, Java, or Golang alongside JavaScript frameworks like React or BackboneJS, HTML5, and CSS3. The role requires implementing data structures, algorithms, and RESTful APIs while managing CI/CD pipelines with SAST and DAST gates. You will solve complex security challenges by leveraging open-source tools, AI Agentic technologies, and cloud stacks including Kubernetes, Kinesis, and Kafka to improve search technologies and threat investigation workflows.

What you'll do

Build and optimize a global-scale security platform using Splunk innovations, open-source tools, and AI technologies.
Own the end-to-end delivery of multiple features to solve complex security challenges.
Develop a deep understanding of product architecture, usage patterns, and real-world deployment scenarios.
Partner with architecture and product management on project requirements, designs, and development plans.
Implement frameworks and backend components using Python, Java, or Golang.
Develop scalable distributed web applications using RESTful APIs and secure coding practices.
Improve team productivity by expanding existing tools and engineering processes.
Mentor junior engineers to develop their technical skills, communication, and career growth.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
7+ years of software engineering experience focused on application development.
Programming experience using Python, Java, or Golang.
Experience with client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks like React and/or BackboneJS.
Experience with front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and/or Responsive Design.
Experience implementing data structures, algorithms, and RESTful APIs with secure design features.
Experience developing scalable distributed web applications using open-source or proprietary technologies.
Experience with CI/CD and security gates such as SAST, DAST, and dependency scanning.
