As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer at Q2, you will join our team dedicated to supporting large financial institutions by designing and implementing secure, scalable solutions in production environments. Your day-to-day responsibilities include translating regulatory requirements into technical designs, building secure integrations using APIs and event-driven systems, and contributing production-grade code that evolves into core product capabilities. You will work closely with customers to understand their business challenges and design solutions that drive measurable outcomes while collaborating with internal teams to influence the product roadmap based on customer needs. This role requires expertise in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, TypeScript, or Go, hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, and a solid understanding of security, compliance, and performance requirements. You will also troubleshoot complex issues across various layers and develop best practices for regulated environments, ensuring our platform meets the evolving needs of financial institutions.
Translate regulatory and business requirements into technical designs for secure, scalable solutions.
Design and build secure integrations using APIs, event-driven systems, and data pipelines.
Serve as a technical lead during customer deployments, conducting architecture reviews and risk assessments.
Identify systemic gaps in deployments and convert them into scalable product enhancements.
Troubleshoot complex issues across application, infrastructure, data, and security layers.
What we're looking for
8+ years of experience as a software engineer or solutions engineer
Strong background in building and deploying enterprise-grade systems in regulated environments
Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java, Python, TypeScript, Go)
Hands-on experience with APIs, authentication/authorization, and secure data handling
Expertise in cloud infrastructure and enterprise deployment models (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Solid understanding of security, compliance, availability, performance, and disaster recovery requirements
