As a Forward-Deployed Engineer at Bilt, you will join a dynamic team to design and build integrations that power the company’s platform ecosystem. Your day-to-day involves embedding with partner engineering teams to develop API integrations, writing production-quality Java code, debugging complex issues in real-time, and creating developer resources like documentation and sample applications. You’ll leverage AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity and efficiency. The role requires strong Java proficiency, deep API fluency, and excellent technical communication skills to bridge internal engineering with external partners. Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and database knowledge is essential, while fintech or payments experience is a significant plus. This position demands hands-on coding alongside strategic planning and collaboration across various teams to ensure successful partner launches and continuous platform improvement.

What you'll do
Embed with partner engineering teams to design and implement API integrations.

What we're looking for
4+ years of experience as a software engineer or similar hands-on technical role
Strong proficiency in Java, including Spring Boot and REST frameworks
Deep understanding and fluency with RESTful APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and third-party integrations
Fluency with AI-powered developer tools like Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot for code generation and debugging
Excellent technical communication skills to explain complex systems to various audiences
Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud Platform) and CI/CD pipelines
