What you'll do

  • Manage the hub-and-spoke contract between cloud systems and on-prem failover edge nodes.
  • Implement identity federation and cached-credential authentication for disconnected edge environments.
  • Ensure data consistency and state reconciliation between cloud and edge during reconnects.
  • Automate the propagation of configuration changes to ensure parity across all edge nodes.
  • Define and test system behavior against high-availability and DDIL (Degraded, Disconnected, Intermittent, Limited) requirements.
  • Set technical direction for the sub-team and mentor junior engineers.

What we're looking for

  • Must possess and be able to maintain an active U.S. Top Secret / SCI Clearance.
  • Mandatory background in software engineering.
  • Proficiency in systems languages including Go, Rust, or Python.
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals such as consensus, conflict resolution, and eventual consistency.
  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture (GCP preferred) and experience with on-prem, bare-metal deployments.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a reliability, SRE, or platform-engineering charter (preferred).
