The Senior Director, Data Science - Head of Fair Lending Analytics - Fair & Responsible Banking Compliance leads a team of data scientists and analysts within the Compliance and Ethics Department. This leader oversees the quantitative arm of the Fair & Responsible Banking Compliance Team, partnering with Legal experts to conduct data analyses of lending decisions and provide guidance on business activities. Key responsibilities include performing statistical data analyses, modeling judgmental areas, reviewing credit models and policies, and enabling responsible AI development in credit processes. The role utilizes a technology stack including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and relational databases. The position focuses on identifying and mitigating fair lending and related compliance risks while developing fair lending and responsible data use processes.
Lead a team of data scientists and analysts to identify and mitigate fair lending and compliance risks.
Perform statistical data analyses and modeling on judgmental areas to provide guidance on business activities.
Review credit models and policies to ensure responsible development of AI in credit processes.
Build machine learning models through all phases of development, including design, training, evaluation, and implementation.
Leverage technologies like Python, AWS, and Spark to extract insights from large volumes of numeric and textual data.
Develop and implement fair lending and responsible data use processes to support the credit business.
Translate complex technical work into tangible business goals to effectively mitigate compliance risks.
What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor's in a quantitative field plus 11 years of data analytics experience, a Master's plus 9 years, or a PhD plus 6 years.
Must have at least 6 years of experience leveraging open source programming languages for large scale data analysis.
Must have at least 6 years of experience working with machine learning.
Must have at least 6 years of experience utilizing relational databases.
Must have experience building, validating, and backtesting models using clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, time series, and deep learning.
Must have experience developing data science solutions using open-source tools and cloud computing platforms.
Must have at least 4 years of experience managing people (preferred).
Must have at least 1 year of experience working with AWS (preferred).
