Senior Director, Data Integrations

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a diverse team of data integration professionals to foster technical growth and career progression.
• Champion modern data engineering principles and systems-thinking to ensure architectural integrity across multiple teams.
• Design and implement distributed pipelines and Medallion architectures using Apache Spark and Scala within Microsoft Fabric.
• Optimize Spark workloads by addressing memory, partitioning, and query planning for batch and streaming processes.
• Manage Data FinOps by implementing cost monitoring, workload forecasting, and capacity planning for cloud infrastructure.
• Enforce engineering excellence through modular design, functional programming standards, and continuous testing across all solutions.
• Build automated release cycles using Git, GitHub Actions, and standard build tools like Maven or SBT.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience managing, mentoring, and developing software or data engineering teams.
• 8+ years of polyglot development experience on the JVM with deep proficiency in Scala and functional programming.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience building, debugging, and optimizing distributed computing applications using Apache Spark.
• Proven ability to build automated release cycles using Git, GitHub Actions, and Maven/SBT or UV tools.
• Experience in Agile development (Scrum, lean techniques) and collaborating with global engineering teams.
• Certification in cloud platforms or data engineering (preferred).
• Background in platform cost governance and workload performance modeling at enterprise scale (preferred).
