Senior Data Protection Engineer, Classified Systems

What you'll do

• Map how sensitive data is created, stored, moved, and accessed within the Classified Systems environment.
• Design the end-to-end data protection architecture including logical controls, physical safeguards, and data flows.
• Define policies, processes, and standards for data classification, monitoring, and media destruction.
• Build a scalable data protection practice to operationalize security standards across the organization.
• Develop automated systems and incident response protocols to handle data spillages and other protection events.
• Partner with stakeholders and engineers to implement technical controls across cloud, on-prem, and endpoint systems.
• Manage compliance obligations across security, legal, and customer-facing teams for classified programs.

What we're looking for

• Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Requires 7+ years of experience in security engineering and security architecture.
• Experience must include designing and building solutions hands-on in production environments.
• Demonstrated experience implementing data protection across endpoints, file shares, cloud storage, and on-prem systems.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Deep understanding of data classification and lifecycle protection in classified or regulated environments.
• Proven ability to lead architecture and process work in ambiguous, greenfield settings.
