The ideal candidate has a Master’s or PhD in Computer Engineering or related field, 2+ years of experience in CPU microarchitecture, strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python, and expertise in out-of-order execution, branch prediction, pipelines, cache coherence, and memory systems. Experience with RISC-V architecture and familiarity with SIMD for AI inference workloads is preferred.

What you'll do

  • Perform performance analysis for CPU microarchitectural features.
  • Run architectural simulations and analyze results using IPC, CPI stacks, latency metrics.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks in frontend, execution engine, or memory subsystems.
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate performance analysis processes.
  • Assist in evaluating design trade-offs using trace-driven or cycle-accurate models.

What we're looking for

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in CPU microarchitecture and performance engineering.
  • Strong understanding of out-of-order execution, branch prediction, pipelines, speculation, cache coherence, memory systems, prefetching, and NUMA effects.
  • Hands-on experience with architectural simulators like gem5.
  • Proficient programming skills in C/C++ and Python for performance analysis.
  • Experience analyzing large performance datasets and traces.
