As a Senior Configuration Support Specialist within the engineering team, you will design, develop, analyze, and troubleshoot complex systems while providing technical support during research and product development. Your daily responsibilities involve developing, installing, testing, and operating equipment, as well as managing experiment designs and material setup. You will be responsible for hardware configuration management processes, including identification, control, status accounting, and change implementation. To succeed, you must demonstrate technical competence in auditing and documenting hardware configurations, managing baselines, and tracking serialized assets. The role requires the ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and sketches while utilizing Life Cycle Management Tools. You will apply these skills to solve complex problems in cyber, RF, undersea, and interstellar domains, ensuring cost-efficient methods for system design and equipment layout within a high-tech defense environment.
Manage hardware configuration processes including identification, control, status accounting, and change implementation.
Establish, maintain, audit, and document hardware configurations and management of configuration baselines.
Track and manage serialized assets and associated records for complex equipment systems.
Design, develop, analyze, and troubleshoot technical issues during research and product development phases.
Determine cost-efficient methods to obtain resources and design layouts for systems, software, and equipment.
Install, test, modify, and operate complex equipment while supporting team members with experiment designs.
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and sketches to support engineering requirements.
Utilize Life Cycle Management tools to ensure consistent configuration control across projects.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related field with 2 years of experience, or a Master's degree.
U.S. citizenship is required.
A Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
Demonstrated practical knowledge of hardware configuration management processes including identification, control, status accounting, and change implementation.
Technical competence in establishing, maintaining, auditing, and documenting hardware configurations and baselines.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and sketches.
Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task (preferred).
Experience with Life Cycle Management Tools (preferred).
