TL;DR · Senior Computer Vision Engineer, Space

As a Senior Computer Vision Engineer at Anduril in Washington DC, you will join a dynamic team focused on developing advanced perception subsystems for spacecraft. Your responsibilities include designing and implementing computer vision algorithms, creating simulation tools, and validating systems through rigorous testing procedures. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Sensors, GNC, Avionics, and Mission Operations to ensure successful integration of CV technologies across various orbital missions. The role requires expertise in machine learning, robotics, or image science, particularly in areas like object detection, tracking, segmentation, and SLAM. Familiarity with terminal guidance, rendezvous operations, and spacecraft navigation is essential, along with a Top Secret security clearance. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge space vehicle autonomy tools for dynamic operations in diverse orbital regimes.

What you'll do

  • Develop and validate computer vision systems for various spacecraft in different orbital regimes.
  • Design test plans and procedures for ground checkout and on-orbit commissioning of CV systems.
  • Create flight software, firmware, algorithms, and simulation products for space vehicle autonomy tools.
  • Lead the implementation, validation, and operations of computer vision technologies for Anduril’s space vehicles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate CV subsystems into spacecraft navigation and control systems.

What we're looking for

  • MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Science, or Image Science with emphasis on Computer Vision.
  • Advanced experience developing and benchmarking ML algorithms on large-scale datasets.
  • Experience in object detection, tracking, instance segmentation, semantic segmentation, and change detection.
  • Knowledge of visual odometry, SLAM, multi-view geometry, 3D reconstruction, and sensor fusion techniques.
  • Familiarity with terminal guidance, rendezvous operations, docking, orbital mechanics, and spacecraft GNC systems.
  • Top Secret security clearance required.
