As a Senior C++ Engineer, High-Performance Systems, you will join the Air & Missile Defense Radar team to develop sophisticated tracking algorithms and software systems that detect and characterize airborne threats in real-time. You will design and implement multi-target tracking, track fusion, and discrimination techniques while building high-performance distributed systems to process massive amounts of radar sensor data within milliseconds. Your daily work involves developing modeling and simulation environments to validate performance, collaborating with engineers to integrate solutions into end-to-end defense systems, and optimizing code for performance-critical environments. The role requires proficiency in C++ and Python, a strong foundation in linear algebra, probability, statistics, and differential equations, and knowledge of software engineering fundamentals like design patterns and version control. You will solve complex problems involving signal processing, estimation theory, and sensor fusion to protect critical assets.
Design and implement advanced tracking algorithms for multi-target detection, track fusion, and discrimination.
Develop high-performance, real-time software systems to process radar sensor data and maintain hundreds of simultaneous tracks.
Build and utilize modeling and simulation environments to validate performance and identify system improvements.
Optimize tracking software for performance-critical environments where millisecond response times are required.
Integrate tracking solutions into end-to-end defense systems in collaboration with engineers and architects.
Communicate technical concepts and trade-offs to cross-functional teams, leadership, and customers.
Participate in customer demonstrations and field tests to ensure operational effectiveness of deployed systems.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
8 years of relevant experience.
Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
Solid foundation in linear algebra, probability, statistics, and/or differential equations.
Understanding of software engineering fundamentals including design patterns, testing, version control, and debugging.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance.
Experience with tracking, estimation, or filtering algorithms (Kalman filters, particle filters, multiple hypothesis tracking, etc.) (preferred).
Background in controls, estimation theory, digital signal processing, radar systems, sensor fusion, high-performance computing, machine learning, and various other technical areas (preferred).
