Senior Backend Software Engineer, Dataverse

What you'll do

• Design, build, and operate distributed cloud services for the Dataverse Runtime platform.
• Develop capabilities that allow AI agents and copilots to securely access enterprise data and execute business logic.
• Lead technical architecture, design reviews, and engineering decisions across multiple feature areas.
• Implement improvements for reliability, scalability, security, performance, and operational excellence in core services.
• Manage the full engineering lifecycle including deployment, monitoring, and live-site support.
• Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for incident mitigation and root cause analysis.
• Mentor engineers and establish best practices for modern software engineering and AI-assisted development.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required.
• Candidates must have at least 4 years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Candidates with a Master's degree and 6+ years of experience or a Bachelor's and 8+ years of experience are preferred.
• Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check is required.
• Experience building large-scale SaaS platforms, cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed systems is preferred.
• Experience in service operations, monitoring, incident response, and maintaining high-availability production services is preferred.
• Experience developing AI-powered applications, copilots, agent orchestration frameworks, or intelligent workflow systems is preferred.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across organizational boundaries is preferred.
