Senior Backend Engineer, Customer Support Platform

What you'll do

• Engineer the logic and user experience connecting customers to Generative AI capabilities.
• Build robust, scalable backend architecture for high-traffic chat interfaces and self-service platforms.
• Design technical solutions that balance latency, throughput, and scalability within a distributed systems environment.
• Develop clean, maintainable code using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures.
• Take end-to-end ownership of complex problems by proposing architecture and driving projects to completion.
• Use data and customer feedback to influence product decisions and define project scope.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Proactively improve the codebase, system architecture, and internal team processes.

What we're looking for

• At least 6 years of experience in backend engineering.
• Proficiency in distributed systems, architectural trade-offs, and clean code principles.
• Experience with web development technologies including REST APIs, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to design technical solutions balancing latency, throughput, and scalability.
• Proven track record of writing maintainable code and participating in code reviews.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Ability to take end-to-end ownership of projects and influence product decisions.
