The Senior Application Analyst – Epic Environments serves as a technical leader within the product development team, focusing on Epic change management, environment strategy, and application lifecycle activities. This role is responsible for governing application changes across various environments, managing Data Courier deployments, overseeing system upgrades, and ensuring stability through rigorous change control processes. The individual will coordinate environment refreshes, manage maintenance windows, and collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and database teams to ensure performance. Key technical requirements include expertise in Epic software applications, specifically involving tools like Data Courier, Security, or Bridges. The role addresses the complex challenge of maintaining reliable healthcare systems within a regulated clinical environment. Additionally, the position involves mentoring junior analysts, troubleshooting complex issues, and managing large-scale upgrades to support seamless data integrity and system reliability across the entire Epic ecosystem.
Lead and facilitate Epic application change control processes to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate environment management activities across development, testing, training, and production environments.
Plan and oversee environment refreshes, upgrades, releases, and version changes.
Troubleshoot complex Data Courier issues and provide technical guidance to project teams.
Establish environment schedules and communicate downtime, maintenance windows, and system availability.
Partner with infrastructure, networking, database, and vendor teams to ensure system stability and performance.
Mentor junior analysts and serve as a trusted advisor on Epic deployment and change management strategy.
Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for issues affecting application availability.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field; or a high school diploma and 4 years of relevant experience.
At least 5 years of experience developing or configuring technology solutions as an application analyst or project delivery role.
Subject matter expertise in patient identification workflows, revenue cycle, CRM & MyChart, Patient Registration, or lab order entry.
Ability to obtain relevant Epic software application certifications within 8 weeks of hire.
Current certification in Epic Data Courier Administration, Epic Security, or Epic Bridges (preferred).
Experience using Epic’s Data Courier tool, leading large-scale upgrades, and managing environments (preferred).
Experience working with networking, interfaces, infrastructure, integrated testing teams, or in regulated healthcare environments (preferred).
