Senior AI Platform Engineer joins the DCSB Artificial Intelligence & Agent Development team to lead the technical strategy for building and accrediting a secure agentic AI platform within AWS GovCloud (IL5). Key responsibilities include managing MLOps practices such as prompt versioning, implementing security controls for agent-to-agent interactions, and navigating RMF and cATO processes to ensure secure deployment into operational environments. The role requires proficiency in Python and expertise in cloud, platform, and DevSecOps engineering. You will solve the critical challenge of establishing secure engineering patterns to ensure AI capabilities are accredited from the start.

What you'll do

Lead the technical accreditation strategy and develop artifacts to support ATO and continuous ATO (cATO) for agentic AI platforms.
Design, build, and operate a secure AWS GovCloud IL5 platform to support agentic AI workloads.
Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker with a focus on scalability and observability.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
Integrate Amazon Bedrock and other authorized AI services while managing IAM, network boundaries, and data flow controls.
Implement MLOps practices including model versioning, deployment gating, monitoring, and rollback procedures.
Serve as the primary technical interface between engineering teams and security stakeholders to translate complex architectures into accreditation evidence.
Establish secure engineering patterns to ensure security is built into the platform from the start of development.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
8+ years of hands-on experience in cloud, platform, DevOps, or MLOps engineering.
U.S. citizenship with an active Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI.
Demonstrated experience supporting systems through formal security accreditation/RMF, including security control documentation and stakeholder interaction.
Experience operating within DoD or federal accredited cloud environments such as IL4/IL5 or FedRAMP Moderate/High.
Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Proficiency in Python.
Working knowledge of how ML/LLM workloads are deployed, scaled, secured, and monitored.
