Senior AI Engineer - Payments - Adyen

What you'll do

• Design and build AI prototypes to address critical challenges identified within Adyen.
• Develop bespoke AI tools that solve unique problems at Adyen's scale, enhancing merchant experience and internal workflows.
• Define and lead the evaluation strategy for agentic systems and LLMs, creating internal benchmarks grounded in real-world complexities.
• Serve as a technical resource for AI initiatives across Adyen, providing expertise on frameworks and strategies to avoid duplicated efforts.
• Set engineering standards and mentor team members, championing reproducibility and rigorous evaluation practices.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in applied AI/ML research or engineering.
• Proven track record of shipping production-ready AI systems, including agentic and LLM-powered solutions.
• Deep expertise in language models, Generative AI, and evaluation frameworks for complex systems.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale agentic systems with multi-agent orchestration capabilities.
• Strong foundation in classical machine learning techniques and probabilistic modeling.
• Ability to write clean, well-structured Python code adhering to engineering standards.
• Hands-on experience with at least one production-grade agentic framework.
