As a Security Incident Response Engineer, you will join the Security Incident Response team to analyze, investigate, and respond to threats ranging from external attacks to insider threats. You will utilize your security engineering experience to improve incident response capabilities by focusing on user and entity behavior analytics and endpoint hardening. Your daily work involves building signal enrichment logic, developing detection models, and transforming raw data from disparate sources into threat detection pipelines. To succeed, you must possess expert knowledge of Python and SQL, along with experience in log analysis, network security, digital forensics, and incident response investigations. You will collaborate cross-functionally to protect networks and systems by identifying anomalous activity. The role requires proficiency in developing novel analytical methods to automate and improve detection systems while addressing complex risks within a large-scale infrastructure environment.
Analyze and investigate a broad range of threats and activities occurring on client devices.
Develop requirements for detection models and enhancements to existing security systems.
Collect, transform, and ingest raw data from disparate sources into threat detection pipelines.
Streamline incident response capabilities by improving tooling and clarifying processes.
Build solutions with data science teams to analyze security events at scale.
Provide actionable insights to identify and respond to anomalous user and entity activity.
Act as the subject-matter expert for stakeholders regarding Security Analytics and Detection programs.
What we're looking for
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience analyzing large datasets to solve problems or building models with a behavioral approach to security.
Expert knowledge of Python and SQL, along with familiarity with other programming languages.
Experience with log analysis, network security, digital forensics, and incident response investigations.
Proficiency in developing and using novel analytical methods to build, automate, and improve detection and response systems.
Ability to communicate results clearly and think creatively about reducing risk in complex environments.
An adversarial mindset understanding the goals, behaviors, and TTPs of threat actors (preferred).
Experience with software engineering, data processing tools, big data frameworks, or specific security domains like UEBA, SIEM, SOAR, or DLP (preferred).
