As a Security Engineer on the Identity Security Breach Preventions team, you will work at the intersection of software engineering and security research to protect Microsoft’s Identity and Network Access services. You will be responsible for translating breach learnings and threat actor behaviors into deterministic engineering controls that prevent recurring vulnerabilities across multiple production services. Your daily work involves designing platform-level enforcement mechanisms, developing reusable prevention frameworks, and establishing paved path security standards. To succeed, you must leverage skills in the software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, threat analysis, modeling, cybersecurity, vulnerability research, and anomaly detection. You will also utilize knowledge of identity and access technologies, including authentication and authorization protocols like OAuth, OIDC, SAML, tokens, certificates/PKI, and MFA to proactively strengthen defenses against emerging threats across the entire identity technology stack.

What we're looking for
Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field and 1+ years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience.
Equivalent experience to the specified degree and experience requirements.
Ability to pass Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background checks.
Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience (preferred).
Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience (preferred).
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience (preferred).
