Security Domain Expert, Perimeter and Network Security, Enterprise Technology Services

What you'll do

• Serve as the technical authority for perimeter and network security across Apple's Emerging Technologies organization.
• Advise application teams on traffic patterns and security requirements using platform capabilities like WAF and DDoS mitigation.
• Evaluate emerging threats and defensive technologies to shape the team’s security strategy proactively.
• Drive alignment on cross-organizational security initiatives, building consensus among various technical teams.
• Synthesize insights from partner engagements to inform and influence the platform's strategic direction.
• Translate complex perimeter security concepts into clear narratives for both engineers and senior leadership.

What we're looking for

• 12+ years of security engineering or architecture experience with hands-on technical expertise.
• Deep knowledge in perimeter and network security including WAF, DDoS mitigation, TLS management.
• Expertise in proxy technologies like NGINX, Envoy, HAProxy across various tiers.
• Experience representing a security team in forums, reviews, and executive briefings.
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to both engineers and senior leadership.
• Familiarity with systems spanning on-premises data centers and public cloud environments (GCP, AWS).
• Proven track record of influencing security direction across organizational boundaries.
