What you'll do

  • Investigate new models and learning techniques to advance the state of the art in document understanding.
  • Evaluate new research ideas at scale to translate advances into practical AI capabilities.
  • Define specific research questions and design experiments for multimodal AI projects.
  • Establish evaluation methodologies and analyze experimental results for machine learning systems.
  • Develop machine learning systems using Python and modern deep learning frameworks like PyTorch.
  • Present research findings through papers, technical reports, posters, or presentations.
  • Translate research ideas into functional prototypes or practical AI systems.

What we're looking for

  • Currently enrolled in a Doctorate Degree program in Computer Science, STEM, or a relevant field.
  • Experience conducting research in document intelligence, multimodal AI, computer vision, natural language processing, or related areas (preferred).
  • Experience with large language models, vision-language models, or other multimodal foundation models (preferred).
  • Experience developing machine learning systems using Python and modern deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to define research questions, design experiments, establish evaluation methodologies, and analyze experimental results (preferred).
  • Prior research experience demonstrated through publications, research internships, or significant research projects (preferred).
  • Experience collaborating with researchers and engineers to translate research ideas into prototypes or practical AI systems (preferred).
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting research findings (preferred).
