Reliability and Failure Analysis Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop and execute reliability programs for display technologies used in wearable computing devices.
• Perform failure analysis and implement corrective actions based on test results.
• Systematize assessment methods for components, subassemblies, and processes to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Provide subject matter expertise on reliability test methodology and device integrity measurements.
• Manage data collection, storage, and reduction to provide real-time information on testing activities.
• Support new technology developments using a systemic approach for risk prioritization and reliability growth.
• Identify high-risk failure modes early in the design cycle to reduce product risks.
• Drive continuous improvement in failure analysis capabilities and field reliability for new products.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience with failure analysis (FA), reliability testing, and technology development.
• Experience operating and interpreting results from SEM/EDX, FTIR/DSC/TGA, CT X-ray, optical microscopy, OMM/CMM, Instron, and cross-sections.
• Solid understanding of Six Sigma concepts and ability to perform Weibull and other model-based reliability analyses.
• Strong understanding of the physics of failure regarding mechanical, electrical, and optical material properties.
• Experience working with EMS partners to execute reliability test plans and collaborate with engineering teams on corrective actions.
• Master’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification and experience in the consumer electronics industry are preferred.
