The R&D Principal Software Engineer joins the Avi Analytics team to deliver high-scale performance monitoring, security, and intelligence telemetry for global enterprises. In this role, you will architect and build high-performance, cloud-scale analytics and security solutions, specifically designing resilient microservices to process massive telemetry streams. You will lead the design of distributed systems for low-latency data processing, build data pipelines for millions of records, and manage stateful workflows. Your technical toolkit includes expert-level GoLang and Python, moderate C++, gRPC, Protobuf, and RESTful APIs. You will optimize queries across a polyglot persistence layer featuring OpenSearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Neo4j. The work involves solving complex backend problems in networking, stream processing, and building data pipelines for threat detection and predictive analytics.

What you'll do

Lead the design and implementation of distributed microservices for low-latency data processing and high availability.
Build and optimize data pipelines capable of handling millions of records in hybrid environments.
Orchestrate a sophisticated tech stack to build durable, stateful workflows for complex backend processes.
Design schemas and optimize queries across a polyglot persistence layer including OpenSearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Neo4j.
Conduct deep-dive code reviews and drive engineering best practices to mentor junior engineers.
Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from initial design to production deployment and maintenance.
Develop production-grade microservices using GoLang, Python, and gRPC for high-throughput cloud environments.

What we're looking for

BS/MS in Engineering Computer Science or a related technical field.
Minimum of 12+ years of experience in software development with a focus on backend systems.
Proven experience leading the end-to-end lifecycle of a product from initial design to production deployment and maintenance.
Expert level mastery of GoLang and Python.
Moderate level proficiency in C++.
Proven experience designing and delivering production-grade microservices for high-throughput, cloud-scale environments.
Proficiency in gRPC, Google Protocol Buffers, and RESTful API design.
Hands-on experience with OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, or Neo4j.
