Quantum Datacenter Engineer

What you'll do

• Assess datacenters for hosting quantum systems and produce site-readiness findings.
• Adapt IBM's reference architecture to create a buildable plan for each customer site.
• Define facility requirements and advise on cost-effective compliance with them.
• Review and appraise customer build plans for adherence to standards and reliability.
• Oversee installation, bring-up, commissioning, and acceptance testing of systems.
• Develop deployment guides and runbooks for repeatable hosting across multiple sites.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with high-reliability critical infrastructure like chilled water plants and redundant power systems.
• Proven ability to work directly with engineering teams on complex system builds and commissions.
• Strong communication skills for both executive and on-the-ground implementation levels.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% to customer and partner sites.
• Advanced degree or professional certification in a relevant technical discipline preferred.
