As a Principal Test & Quality Platform Architect, you will serve as the vital bridge between customer support, sustaining engineering, and quality engineering to enhance product quality for Oracle Database. You will act as a subject matter expert on how customers deploy and scale databases across enterprise environments, including on-premises, OCI, and hybrid configurations. Your daily responsibilities involve establishing engagement mechanisms like advisory forums and data-driven feedback channels to capture real-world workloads and pain points. You will translate these insights into actionable testing priorities for functional, stress, performance, reliability, and scalability testing. The role requires deep expertise in Oracle Database technologies such as RAC, Data Guard, Multitenant, Exadata, and GoldenGate. You will also define quality metrics and dashboards while identifying opportunities to simplify testing tools and processes to improve overall system reliability and performance.
Establish mechanisms to capture customer deployment patterns, operational pain points, and emerging workloads.
Analyze customer telemetry, support trends, and benchmark workloads to identify testing gaps.
Translate real-world customer usage patterns into improved functional, stress, performance, and reliability testing.
Develop testing strategies that reflect Oracle-specific architectures like RAC, Data Guard, and Exadata.
Define testing priorities based on actual production-inspired scenarios across hybrid and cloud environments.
Simplify and improve internal testing tools and processes to minimize engineering disruption.
Define meaningful quality metrics and dashboards to track product performance.
What we're looking for
10–15 years of experience in software quality engineering, database engineering, software architecture, or related technical leadership roles.
Deep expertise with Oracle Database technologies and enterprise database deployments.
Strong understanding of Oracle Database customer environments, operational practices, and enterprise workloads.
Experience designing or leading functional, performance, scalability, stress, and reliability testing for enterprise software.
Ability to translate customer requirements into testing priorities.
Experience working across Development, QA, Sustaining Engineering, and customer-facing organizations.
Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends from customer data, telemetry, and support feedback.
Experience with Oracle Database internals and enterprise features such as RAC, Data Guard, Multitenant, ASM, Exadata, GoldenGate, and OCI Database Services (preferred).
Experience analyzing customer telemetry, support data, benchmark workloads, or production performance trends (preferred).
