As a Principal Software Engineer on the Starship Continuous Integration team, you will own the tools powering Starship software development. You will design, maintain, and scale systems that enable hundreds of engineers to integrate changes and deliver reliable software to all Starship vehicles and launch pads on a continuous basis. What you'll do

What we're looking for

7+ years of software engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM discipline.
9+ years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree.
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for required Department of State authorizations.
Skill with Bazel or similar build systems (preferred).
Fluency in Python, C++, Rust, or Go (preferred).
Experience building tools and infrastructure that impacts hundreds of engineers daily (preferred).
Experience with AI-assisted development tools and interest in applying AI to improve code quality, testing, and development workflows (preferred).
Strong critical thinking, first-principles problem-solving, and excellent written and verbal communication skills (preferred).
