Principal Security Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Identify and resolve security issues across infrastructure, public cloud, applications, and data stores.
• Design and implement secure, scalable architectures to protect services and customer data.
• Translate security requirements into practical, developer-friendly tools and solutions.
• Analyze new attack vectors to develop proactive defenses against emerging threats.
• Build security skills in other engineers through hands-on problem-solving and mentorship.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code and DevSecOps practices to embed security into the development lifecycle.
• Create practical guidance to make security concepts accessible and actionable for engineering teams.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering, including expertise in cloud, network, or application security.
• Expert knowledge in threat modeling, vulnerability management, security architecture, and secure coding practices.
• Deep expertise in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong coding or scripting skills in Python, Go, or Java and experience with infrastructure-as-code and DevSecOps.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, and HIPAA.
• Proven ability to lead security strategy and mentor teams across functions.
• Experience building a secure cloud, not just using one securely (preferred).
