As a Principal Platform Technical Program Manager in Microsoft’s Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team, you will lead the execution of next-generation accelerated AI computing systems, guiding programs from early engineering development through validation, NPI, pilot deployment, and fleet-level readiness. Your role involves driving disciplined cross-functional execution across internal teams, technology partners, and global manufacturing and supply chain organizations to ensure platforms are built, tested, and production-ready at scale. You will manage the Plan-of-Record (POR) and critical path, run execution operating rhythms, drive dependency management, operate a risk/issue system, establish change control, and partner with deployment and operations teams to inform program decisions and enable clean transitions into downstream deployment and operations. This role requires deep technical insight paired with strong program leadership skills, experience in managing cross-functional projects, and knowledge of hardware, firmware, software, and complex system design, test, and integration, ideally within the context of high-volume server design and manufacturing at scale for Azure’s global cloud infrastructure.
Own the Plan-of-Record (POR) and critical path across various stages.
Run execution operating rhythm to turn ambiguity into explicit plans.
Drive cross-organizational dependency management to prevent late-stage issues.
Operate a disciplined risk/issue system with clear mitigations and recovery plans.
Establish and govern change control using decision records and impact framing.
Partner with global manufacturing for production-capable build strategies and readiness.
Align stakeholders on measurable readiness criteria for evidence-based milestone exits.
What we're looking for
6+ years experience in technical program management or a related technical role.
Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.
Proven ability to manage cross-functional and cross-team projects.
Experience with hardware, firmware & software design, test, and integration.
Knowledge of high-volume server manufacturing and complex system solutions.
Understanding of datacenters and operations at scale.
Ability to drive disciplined risk/issue management and change control.
