Intuit is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join its Mid Market AI team in Mountain View. This role involves leading the design and deployment of advanced AI/ML solutions that enhance Intuit’s financial products, focusing on cutting-edge technologies like Large Language Models (LLMs) and multimodal systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting technical roadmaps, overseeing end-to-end ML system lifecycles from data curation to production monitoring, and mentoring junior engineers while fostering innovation through rapid prototyping and cross-functional collaboration with product managers and data scientists. Ideal candidates have a Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, 10+ years of experience in production-level ML development, expertise in Python, Java, or Scala, proficiency with TensorFlow and PyTorch, and strong computer science fundamentals.
Define and own the AI strategy and ML platform architecture for a multi-year technical roadmap.
Lead the full lifecycle of ML solutions from data curation to production deployment and monitoring.
Apply state-of-the-art technologies like LLMs and multimodal models to solve complex business problems.
Build rapid prototypes and scale successful experiments to robust production-level solutions.
Provide mentorship and foster a culture of technical excellence among junior engineers.
What we're looking for
Over 10 years of experience in developing and deploying production-level machine learning.
Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science with a focus on AI/ML or equivalent industry experience.
Expertise in Python, Java, or Scala for building robust ML systems.
Proficiency with TensorFlow and PyTorch for model training and deployment.
Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
Ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior engineers in AI/ML practices.
