As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer in Zillow’s Agentic Data Platform (ADP) team, you will set the technical direction by defining and owning the architecture roadmap for agentic data foundations that power scalable AI experiences. You will architect and ship large-scale systems handling millions of agent interactions with high availability and low latency, while also driving cross-organizational execution across multiple teams to ensure alignment on architectural decisions. Your role involves communicating complex platform trade-offs clearly at all levels and mentoring senior engineers to elevate the technical culture within the organization. Ideal candidates have over a decade of experience in building large-scale data and ML infrastructure, with hands-on expertise in agentic AI systems and cloud infrastructure, particularly in Python and frameworks like LangGraph, LangChain, and Agents SDK.

What we're looking for
10+ years of experience building and scaling large-scale data and ML infrastructure in production.
Hands-on expertise in designing and shipping agentic AI systems with orchestration, memory engineering, and evaluation.
Deep understanding of distributed systems architecture and operational excellence at massive scale.
Expert-level proficiency in Python and extensive experience with agentic frameworks and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
Proven ability to set technical direction and communicate complex trade-offs across organizational boundaries.
