The Principal Field Application Engineer - Edge AI joins the Sales organization to support strategic partners in integrating Arm technologies, specifically focusing on Edge AI. This role serves as a technical leader and trusted advisor, providing system-level architectural guidance for Arm-based SoCs and platforms. You will lead complex technical engagements, helping customers with IP selection, configuration, and optimization for CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, and compute subsystems to meet power and performance goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting workshops, providing market insights, and resolving multi-functional technical challenges. You must possess expertise in SoC architecture, memory subsystems, cache coherency, and interconnects. The role solves the business problem of accelerating technology adoption and design wins by bridging the gap between complex hardware/software interactions and customer product roadmaps.
Act as the primary technical advisor for strategic partner accounts and key decision-makers.
Lead technical engagements to support licensing opportunities, design wins, and successful solution deployments.
Provide system-level architectural guidance for Arm-based SoCs, including CPUs, GPUs, and NPUs.
Guide customers in IP selection, configuration, and optimization for power and performance objectives.
Support customers through the entire lifecycle from architecture definition to implementation and deployment.
Drive technology adoption through technical presentations, workshops, and executive-level discussions.
Resolve complex multi-functional technical challenges by coordinating with internal product and engineering teams.
Provide market insights and competitive intelligence to influence product strategy and roadmap decisions.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Experience in semiconductor, SoC build, applications engineering, system architecture, engineering sales, or related technical roles.
Strong understanding of SoC architecture, system integration, and hardware/software interactions including processors, memory, and interconnects.
Experience with Arm-based systems including CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, compute modules, system IP, and SoC integration methodologies.
Background in Field Applications Engineering, technical consulting, solutions engineering, technical sales, or similar customer-facing technical roles.
Experience leading technical discussions involving system architecture, efficiency, speed, scalability, and implementation trade-offs.
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
Experience with Edge AI solutions, AI/ML accelerators, or specific markets like mobile, consumer, or IoT (preferred).
