As a Principal Data & AI Architect, you will serve as a strategic technical leader within the Data Architecture team, defining enterprise-scale architectures that make data trusted, connected, and ready for analytics and Generative AI. You will design line-of-business and cross-domain architectures for data products, semantic layers, and cloud platforms. Your daily work involves building prototypes, establishing reusable patterns, and mentoring engineers while managing multi-cloud integrations between Snowflake on AWS and Google Cloud. You will utilize technologies including BigQuery, Gemini, Apache Iceberg, Spark, SQL, and Python to solve complex problems in data locality, lineage, and observability. Key responsibilities include architecting agentic analytics, knowledge graphs, and retrieval-augmented generation systems while ensuring responsible AI practices, security, and regulatory compliance across structured and unstructured data environments.
Define line-of-business and cross-domain data architectures aligned with enterprise AI and cloud strategies.
Design governed data foundations for analytics, machine learning, and Generative AI applications.
Evolve semantic models, business vocabularies, and knowledge graphs to provide consistent business meaning.
Architect data capabilities for conversational and agentic analytics, including natural-language data access.
Establish secure multi-cloud patterns for integrating Snowflake on AWS with Google Cloud AI services.
Define standards for Apache Iceberg, open table formats, and multi-engine data interoperability.
Design governed data products including data contracts, metadata, lineage, and integration patterns.
Perform hands-on experiments and rapid prototyping to validate emerging data and AI technologies.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
10+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise architecture, data engineering, analytics architecture, or a related discipline.
Expert knowledge of enterprise data architecture, conceptual and logical data modeling, data products, metadata, data integration, data quality, and data governance.
Deep experience designing enterprise-scale data solutions using Snowflake, AWS, and Google Cloud.
Demonstrated experience designing multi-cloud data architectures and leading architecture for large, cross-functional initiatives.
Experience with Apache Iceberg, open table formats, cloud object storage, and designing semantic layers or knowledge graphs.
