Principal Computer Systems Architect (Software)

What you'll do

• Define and manage the software architecture for a Java-based missile defense command-and-control planner system.
• Oversee the development and implementation of the Planner software's design and architectural artifacts.
• Analyze system performance by quantifying metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and measuring throughput.
• Determine the ramifications and impacts of proposed architectural changes to the software baselines.
• Support the analysis, design, and implementation of cyber requirements within the software.
• Install and set up Linux and Windows hardware platforms, including OS installation and application deployment.
• Coordinate the execution of software integration tests across various environments to ensure proper operation.
• Diagnose software issues and determine root causes in collaboration with software developers.

What we're looking for

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 5 years of experience, a Master’s with 3 years, or 9 years of experience without a degree.
• Must possess a current, active in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Experience in software engineering and architecture involving large software systems.
• Experience designing software architecture for large-scale distributed systems prioritizing scalability, extensibility, maintainability, and reliability.
• Experience in Java programming and managing software development across the entire lifecycle.
• Experience integrating complex applications across Windows and Unix/Linux platforms.
• Experience with Helm, Ingress, container orchestration tools, or administering VMware systems (preferred).
