Principal AI Platform Engineer, AI Experiences, Copilot Engineering

What you'll do

• Build new AI features to enhance Copilot capabilities.
• Develop secure and performant AI platform services including model serving and orchestration.
• Create high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable code for production environments.
• Manage the full lifecycle of systems in production, including participating in on-call rotations.
• Build scalable APIs and data pipelines for large-scale products.
• Deploy and scale large language models (LLMs) using machine learning frameworks.
• Develop infrastructure for retrieval-augmented generation, agent frameworks, and tool-calling systems.
• Design and build evaluation and experimentation infrastructure for AI systems.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 6+ years of engineering experience with coding in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Equivalent experience to the degree and years requirement is acceptable.
• Experience leveraging generative AI technologies to develop innovative and user-focused product features (preferred).
• 6+ years of experience building APIs and creating pipelines for large-scale products (preferred).
• 6+ years of experience building scalable services on public cloud infrastructure with extensive use of relational databases and key-value stores (preferred).
• Experience using Machine Learning frameworks, including deploying and scaling large language models (preferred).
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, agent frameworks, tool-calling systems at scale, and building evaluation/experimentation infrastructure for AI systems (preferred).
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (preferred).
