At Motorola Solutions, the Presale Systems Engineer role within the Presales Engineering Team is a senior position focused on delivering innovative end-to-end solutions to US Federal Government Civilian and Law Enforcement customers. This engineer will collaborate with sales teams to discover customer requirements, develop technology strategies, design system architectures, and create technical presentations and demos. The ideal candidate should have experience in wireless communications fundamentals, IP networking architecture, and cloud technologies like FedRAMP, as well as the ability to present complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Key skills include knowledge of APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3GPP 4G/5G, FirstNet/Frontline, and RF coverage predictions. This role requires a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearances and involves working in the Linthicum Heights, MD office and up to 25% travel.
Conduct customer requirements discovery to understand technical needs.
Develop technology strategies for mission-critical public safety solutions.
Design end-to-end system architectures for complex customer challenges.
Create detailed proposals for advanced communication technologies.
Deliver internal and external technical presentations on innovative solutions.
Demonstrate equipment and software configurations through live demos.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred
3+ years of experience in Sales, Pre-Sales, Project Management, Engineering, or Public Safety
Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance
Experience with wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures (APCO P25, LTE, etc.)
Knowledge of Cloud (FedRAMP), IP networking architecture, protocols, and security
Ability to present complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
