Power Generation Engineer

What you'll do

• Design, build, operate, and maintain microgrids and high-capacity electrical infrastructure for Starbase facilities.
• Perform detailed engineering designs including one-lines, relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, and conduit routing.
• Create and manage sitewide power budgets and monitoring systems to optimize mission-critical asset efficiency.
• Develop standardized designs for launch sites, propellant generation, and power delivery infrastructure.
• Implement protective relay settings and schemes for high-voltage equipment.
• Execute infrastructure upgrades to scale power systems in line with Starship production targets.
• Maintain organized design documentation and asset records for all power facilities.
• Ensure all electrical systems comply with NFPA, NESC, and IEEE safety standards.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of experience in power systems design, analysis, and build for high-power, high-voltage systems.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for required export control authorizations.
• Professional Engineering license or intention to actively seek a PE license (preferred).
• 3+ years of professional experience in a similar role (preferred).
• Experience with power systems analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, PowerWorld, Matlab, PSCAD, PSEE, or Simulink (preferred).
• Familiarity with industrial power systems up to 345 kV and industrial communication protocols like Modbus or DNP3 (preferred).
• Experience with CAD software including Revit, AutoCAD, or NX (preferred).
