As a Platform and Data Engineer, you will join a multi-disciplinary team to build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities for mission-driven projects. You will deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize disparate data into meaningful insights, managing the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable systems. Your daily work involves full-stack data engineering, including building back-ends and interactive front-ends like analytics dashboards or web apps. You will utilize Python, Spark, NumPy, pandas, matplotlib, PySpark, Qlik, Tableau, and web frameworks like React, Angular, and TypeScript. The role addresses complex problems in domains such as fraud detection, cancer research, national intelligence, and logistics data sets for the US Navy, requiring you to turn complex data points into informed decisions within classified environments.

What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering.
Experience in software development, data science, or data engineering including in an academic or internship environment.
Experience utilizing Python for data, leveraging standard libraries such as NumPy, pandas, matplotlib, and PySpark including in an academic or internship environment.
Ability to build visualization front ends in the form of analytics dashboards or interactive GUI applications such as web apps.
Ability to communicate technical solutions to a non-technical audience, including leadership.
Ability to break down complex problems into technical solutions based on customer requirements independently.
Experience with DoD platforms such as War Data Platform, ADVANA, or Palantir Foundry (preferred).
