Join Leidos Digital Modernization as a Network Engineer in the Agile Network Operations Cell supporting Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command’s base readiness initiative. As a senior-level engineer, you will serve as the primary technical expert for Base Area Networks across multiple regional bases, providing expertise in LAN architecture design and system modernizations while collaborating closely with government teams. Your daily tasks include planning network architectures, identifying capability gaps, recommending new technologies, implementing approved configurations, and training operations staff on newly deployed equipment. Essential skills encompass extensive hands-on experience with TCP/IP networks, including hardware and software components, as well as proficiency in Network Administration, Security, and NIST/FISMA standards. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with SDN, virtualization, SIEM/SOAR platforms like Splunk and Solarwinds, and wireless LAN management tools for Cisco and HPE solutions.
Provide network engineering support for planning, designing, and evaluating LAN components.
Develop specifications and recommend new technologies to enhance current network capabilities.
Implement approved network configurations according to local change management processes.
Monitor, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network equipment across multiple locations.
Draft technical documentation and facilitate training for operations teams on new equipment.
What we're looking for
BS degree or equivalent experience in networking and 8-12 years of relevant work experience.
Extensive hands-on experience with TCP/IP networks, including hardware, software, network management systems, and security.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
Active Secret clearance required; must be a U.S. citizen.
One or more relevant certifications such as SecurityX/CASP+, CCNA, CCNP Security, CEH, GCED, GCLD, or others listed.
Experience with IPv4/IPv6 implementation and network security principles including Zero Trust architecture.
