TL;DR · Module Test Instrumentation & Automation Engineer

The Module Test Instrumentation & Automation Eng joins the hardware team to support the research, design, development, test, and qualification of camera hardware. This role involves designing, implementing, and debugging methods to calibrate imaging systems and developing metrics to quantify performance for global manufacturing. The engineer will build new testers, critical optical components, and software to calibrate and test imaging systems while conducting experiments to provide feedback for product design. Key responsibilities include performing hardware failure analysis using oscilloscopes, SMUs, DMMs, power meters, and spectrum analyzers, as well as reviewing circuit schematics and PCB layouts. The role requires developing image and data processing algorithms and automation software using MATLAB or Python. Core tasks involve implementing end-to-end automated test equipment for camera and depth modules to ensure functional safety and performance across worldwide production operations.

What you'll do

  • Develop image and data processing algorithms using MATLAB or Python for camera calibration and mass production testing.
  • Design and implement end-to-end automated test equipment (ATE) for camera and depth modules at a global scale.
  • Perform hardware failure analysis using lab instruments like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Develop software to calibrate imaging systems and establish metrics to quantify performance in manufacturing environments.
  • Review circuit schematics, PCB layouts, and mechanical designs of test fixtures to ensure they meet engineering requirements.
  • Define and document functional requirements, test specifications, and calibration flows for imaging systems.
  • Analyze large volumes of production data to identify trends and provide evidence for engineering decisions.
  • Manage external vendors and internal teams to integrate multi-functional test heads into ATE systems.

What we're looking for

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Imaging optics, Camera testing, Image processing, or a related field.
  • Experience developing image/data processing algorithms and automation software using MATLAB or Python for camera and depth module calibration.
  • Experience designing and analyzing protection circuits and electrical/optical metrology systems to meet functional safety requirements.
  • Experience implementing end-to-end automated test equipment (ATE) for camera and depth modules at a global factory scale.
  • Experience performing hardware failure analysis using lab instruments like oscilloscopes, SMUs, DMMs, power meters, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Ability to review circuit schematic capture, PCB layouts, and mechanical designs of test fixtures against engineering requirements.
  • Ability to define and document functional requirements, test specifications, calibration flows, and software pipeline documentation.
  • Experience analyzing large-volume production data to identify performance trends and support engineering decisions.
