TL;DR · Mixed-Signal Behavioral Modeling Engineer

The Mixed-Signal Behavioral Modeling Engineer joins the mixed-signal silicon design team to work on full custom analog and high-speed digital circuits. The role involves translating custom mixed-signal circuit schematics into efficient SystemVerilog behavioral models for high-level simulations while collaborating with circuit design and verification teams. Key responsibilities include running simulations and formal equivalence tools to ensure model accuracy, coding targeted checks within representative models, and writing scripts or simple tools to automate repetitive tasks or calculations. The position requires expertise in Verilog, SystemVerilog, and Python or PERL scripting. Candidates should possess knowledge of digital logic gates, clocking, state elements, and analog blocks like amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, and comparators. Technical focus areas include SPICE circuit simulations, timing synchronous digital logic, digital signal processing, numerical analysis, and specialized components such as PLLs, DLLs, and SERDES.

What you'll do

  • Translate custom mixed-signal circuit schematics into efficient SystemVerilog behavioral models for high-level simulations.
  • Collaborate with circuit design teams to understand the technical details of custom circuits.
  • Work with verification teams to create hooks for effective testing and validation.
  • Run simulations and formal equivalence tools to ensure model accuracy against custom circuits.
  • Code targeted checks within representative models to verify that circuits function as intended.
  • Write scripts and develop simple tools to automate repetitive tasks or perform calculations.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Excellent knowledge of digital logic gates, clocking, and state elements (preferred).
  • Excellent knowledge of Verilog/SystemVerilog with the ability to write behavioral code (preferred).
  • Ability to read custom circuit schematics and understand functionality (preferred).
  • Solid understanding of logic and behavioral simulations (preferred).
  • Knowledge of passive/active circuit elements, voltage/current sources, and analog blocks like amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, and comparators (preferred).
  • Basics of SPICE circuit simulations (preferred).
  • Familiarity with scripting in PERL/Python, basic algorithms, DSP, numerical analysis, probability, or statistical basics (preferred).
