Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Tooling

What you'll do

• Design custom tooling and fixtures to support manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and testing of aerospace products.
• Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical documentation using PTC Creo.
• Develop rapid prototypes in the Additive Manufacturing Lab to validate form, fit, and function during early design stages.
• Collaborate with the machine shop to transition designs into fabricated hardware and provide guidance during the manufacturing process.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement design improvements in coordination with manufacturing, quality, and product teams.
• Provide hands-on support by assembling, integrating, and validating tooling to ensure it meets intended functionality on the floor.
• Manage the full tooling lifecycle including material selection, structural integrity analysis, and compliance with industry standards.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience, a Graduate degree with 0 to 2 years of experience, or 6 years of experience without a degree.
• Minimum of 1 year of prior relevant work experience supporting a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Intermediate experience in drawing creation, release, and revision using a Product Data Management system.
• Intermediate understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Intermediate knowledge of materials including aluminum, stainless steels, plastics, and additive manufacturing materials.
• Intermediate knowledge of fasteners, mechanical hardware, and Microsoft Office tools.
• U.S. citizens.
