Conduct advanced research in machine learning and computer vision to develop innovative algorithms for 3D data processing.
Design and optimize scalable ML systems for handling large-scale 3D datasets including point clouds, meshes, and images.
Translate research prototypes into production-ready solutions by collaborating with engineering teams on integration.
Evaluate model performance through benchmarking and drive iterative improvements in ML capabilities.
Stay informed about the latest ML advancements to identify new techniques applicable to Matterport's challenges.
Contribute to architectural design and strategic planning for ML systems and research initiatives at Matterport.
What we're looking for
3+ years of machine learning research and development in computer vision or related fields.
Proficiency in PyTorch and strong programming skills in Python.
Solid understanding of deep learning architectures, optimization techniques, and evaluation methodologies.
Experience with data manipulation libraries such as NumPy and Pandas.
Ability to conduct independent research, propose novel solutions, and implement them effectively.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for complex technical concepts.
Preferred: Ph.D. or Masters in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or related field.
