JOB TITLE: Machine Learning Researcher The Machine Learning Researcher joins the Engineering Group to conduct fundamental research creating innovative machine learning methodologies that achieve beyond state-of-the-art performance. This role involves developing and testing complex new algorithms, models, and methods while driving systems innovations for model efficiency on devices and in the cloud. Key responsibilities include researching deep generative models, Bayesian deep learning, equivariant CNNs, reinforcement learning, and graph NNs. The researcher will also explore platform research such as compute in memory, on-device learning, and federated learning. Candidates must utilize skills in model compression, quantization, architecture search, and kernel/graph compiler scheduling. The work focuses on solving technical problems for mobile, edge, auto, and IOT products by developing patentable ideas and publishing research findings in conference papers.

What you'll do

Conduct fundamental research to create new machine learning models and training methods.

What we're looking for

Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of relevant engineering work experience.
PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
6+ months of academic and/or work experience developing and/or optimizing machine learning models, systems, platforms, or methods.
PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
2+ publications at a machine learning conference (preferred).
2+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization (preferred).
1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (preferred).
1+ year experience with machine learning research related to new models, systems innovations, platforms, or methodology (preferred).
