What you'll do

  • Lead a team of ML engineers focused on building capabilities and improving quality for Visual Generation foundation models.
  • Drive data excellence strategies for training large-scale foundation models using billion-scale datasets.
  • Apply machine learning models to enrich and curate high-quality training data.
  • Manage the development of state-of-the-art generative AI technologies for image and video generation.
  • Implement distributed data processing pipelines and utilize ML frameworks as a hands-on technical leader.
  • Integrate latest AI research and proprietary experimental ideas into Apple’s unique ecosystem.
  • Ensure high standards of execution and safety by collaborating with policy and responsible AI teams.

What we're looking for

  • M.S. or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as an ML Manager leading teams through modern computer vision and generative AI research.
  • 8+ years of experience training state-of-the-art generative or understanding models.
  • Proficiency in ML frameworks and distributed data processing pipelines as a hands-on technical leader.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and mentoring engineers to foster growth.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to drive clarity in ambiguous circumstances.
  • Prior hands-on research experience working with data and building models.
  • Track record of industrial research, including complex project delivery or publications in top-tier venues.
